Video Project: Siren (II)

This video belongs in the same series as the found object sculpture. I am objected to making a video surrounding the sculpture I made. Therefore, I just wanted to express the same theme and concept as I did in the sculpture in this video. I made it in a simple exhibiting manner with a subtle message behind it. I wanted to show the audience that fear is something that comes by a surprise and it might become a part of the person that you are as a phobia, but it doesn't necessarily have to. I found three video references from the website called vimeo. One video is an exhibition video from McNay Art Musuem which gives me a lot of ideas about the camera angle and how I should cut and edit the video. The next one is from a wall sculpture called Labyrint and the last one is of a kinetic sculpture for the BMW museum which gave me the inspiration to project background images to my sculpture piece. This project was challenging because you have to learn how to create art from electronic devices. The video taping part will not be very difficult if you have the right lighting and backdrop, and fortunately our school already has the right tools provided. The editing is a lot tougher because you have to be cautious whether or not the image and the background music match, whether the music is suitable for the piece or not, and etc.
